Security of Data
The data sent between you and this website is encrypted.
When your user agent (for example, a browser) sends a request to this website (for example, visiting a page or viewing an image), the server adds an entry to a log in the Combined Log Format (external link). This entry includes:
- Your IP address.
- The time at which you requested the file.
- How you requested the file.
- The name of the file that you requested.
- The technical communication standard used by your user agent.
- The result of your request (for example, if the file was found, whether there was an error, etc.)
- The size of the file that you requested.
- The URL from where you came (for example, if you clicked a link to access a page).
- The user agent string sent by your user agent (usually identifying things such as your operating system and browser).
Purpose of Data Collection
The data is stored to be able to analyze traffic patterns in the case of an attack on the website. The data may also be used to collect aggregated user statistics. These aggregated statistics does not contain information that can be used to identify any individual person, and are therefore completely anonymous. The data is not used to profile visitors.
Necessity of Data Delivery
The data collected is sent automatically as part of the way the Internet works, and its transmission is therefore a technical necessity. Many user agents allow you to change the user agent string, which will not in any way impact your access to this website. Refer to your user agent's documentation for more information on how to do so for your particular user agent.
Location of Data
To match the location of the majority of our visitors, this website is hosted in the United States, which is consequently also the location of the server logs.
Access to Data
The server data is accessible to the webmaster for the purposes listed above. The data can also be accessed by the web hosting company, for example for maintenance or security purposes.
Duration of Data Storage
The server log is automatically deleted every month. The log may be stored for a longer period of time, for example if required by law or court order, or in order to secure evidence of an attack on the website.

The If you wish to see the data we have about you, you can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
